Case Study
Background: with its 70’s repeated industrial triangle form, Kansas City Convention Center is one of the most important architectural giant in downtown area, which is on Broadway between 12th and 13th , across street to Folly Theater and other important architectural buildings around. However, the Bartle Hall loading dock has always been in its dreadful state.
Task: As part of rebuilding Kansas City downtown area, the renovation needs to cover raw exterior out look of loading dock from streets and from high rise hotel and office buildings above. I was asked to be sensitive to the surrounding but absolutely change the monstrous, mescaline and industrial architectural aesthetic outlook of the Bartle Hall on the Broadway end.
Point: close team work between artist and architect made the project much more efficient and also save the cost.
